Pokemon Go Is Adding More Gigantamax Starters During Global Go Fest Events

2025’s Pokemon Go Fest commences swiftly, featuring three real-life events in various cities across the globe over the coming weeks. Regardless if you can’t attend one of these gatherings, there are still opportunities for participation as three worldwide events are scheduled, each introducing a fresh Gigantamax starter Pokemon to the game.

Serene Retreat, May 30-June 3

The Serene Retreat event is happening from May 30th to June 3rd. During this time, adorable Pokémon like Chansey, Cutiefly, and Morelull will show up more often in the wild and hatch eggs at a higher rate. Additionally, Gigantamax Rillaboom will make its debut in Pokemon Go for the first time. You’ll have a chance to battle this grass-type starter in six-star Max Raids from May 31st to June 1st.

Instrumental Wonders, June 7-11

Next week, I’ll be on the lookout for some exciting action with Pokemon Go! Starting June 7th through the 11th, they’re hosting an Instrumental Wonders event. During this period, rare Pokemons such as Ferroseed, Galarian Stunfisk, and Falinks will be popping up more often in the wild and as Raid bosses. Plus, for two days only on June 7th and 8th, Gigantamax Cinderace will make its grand entrance in six-star Max Battles! Can’t wait to join the fun!

Phantom Ruins, June 14-18

To wrap things up, the Phantom Ruins event is scheduled from June 14th to 18th. This special occasion will primarily focus on earth and spectral Pokémon. During this period, you’ll notice an increase in the appearance of monsters such as Duskull, Drilbur, and Phantump in the wild. Additionally, Sableye, Greavard, and other ghostly creatures will be attracted to Incense. For the first time ever, Gigantamax Inteleon will make its debut in Pokémon Go, appearing as a six-star Max Battle boss from June 14th to 15th.

Pokemon Go Fest 2025

2025’s Pokémon Go Fest begins in Osaka, Japan, from May 29th to June 1st, followed by events in Jersey City and Paris within the following weeks. You can purchase tickets for these real-life gatherings on the official Pokémon Go website.

Following the wrap-up of in-person gatherings, Pokemon Go plans to host a worldwide Go Fest celebration from June 28th to 29th. Similar to past events, various “environments” will be featured and changed throughout the event, with specific Pokemon appearing more often depending on the environment. Players who acquire an event ticket digitally will also have a chance to capture the legendary Pokemon Volcanion.
