In this unique game titled “Date Everything”, you’ll find yourself in a world where ordinary items transform into people! Equipped with special glasses, you’re free to interact with these newly sentient objects, and as you might expect, relationships can blossom or sour based on your decisions. Although the concept may initially seem outlandish, there’s a deeper layer to this intriguing journey.

It’s quite extraordinary to imagine developing feelings for everyday objects like a toaster or a toilet (special mention goes out to Jean Loo Pissoir, also known as Lil’ Crapper), yet the concept was fascinating when I initially experienced it in Date Everything.

As a gamer, I’m always thrilled when I find out that the game developers, Sassy Chap Games, have enlisted some familiar voices to bring their characters to life. Notable talents like Matt Mercer, Robbie Daymond (yes, they have one of my favorites!), Ray Chase, Ben Starr, and Laura Bailey are part of the cast, alongside other well-known voice actors I’ve come to appreciate. It’s a star-studded roster that adds an extra layer of excitement to the gameplay experience.

Initially, you might think the game’s outlandish premise is the main attraction, but upon playing, you’ll discover there’s a lot more depth to it. Every seemingly absurd aspect was carefully planned.

In a chat with the creators of Date Everything, TopMob had a sit-down discussion with co-creator Robbie Daymond, Game Developer and Chief Writer Ray Chase, and multi-role contributors Amanda Hufford (Producer, Writer, Director, and voice actor of Rebel, the rubber duck). The purpose of this conversation was to delve into what sets Date Everything apart as a heartfelt idea.

Basically, Robbie Daymond described Date Everything as “an outlandish idea carried out exceptionally well.” He added that the show managed to strike a nice balance between being playful and slightly suggestive, yet never crossing boundaries into being explicit, extreme, or frightening.

The adventure maintains its status as a dating sim, yet it concentrates more on the core narrative instead of constructing the plot around attempting to date a fruit bowl.

As a passionate enthusiast, I concur with the notion that our creation has the potential to spark intrigue among many. Yet, we’ve been mindful not to alienate or frighten our audience. In my opinion, we’ve successfully managed to find a harmonious blend of captivating allure and comforting familiarity.

Indeed, despite the seemingly “unconventional idea,” Sassy Chap Games has been meticulously crafting tender moments within their dating sim. Their objective is to “flip the script of satire” and create a product that feels comfortably familiar.

As you build connections with the game’s potential partners, you’ll discover richer and emotionally impactful scenes leading to different outcomes, some positive and others not. Although the furniture might seem charming with its pun-filled names, be aware that this is a journey capable of stirring your emotions in multiple ways.
