Currently, the upcoming Battlefield title is being worked on, with only minimal playtesting conducted thus far. Now, developer DICE has revealed an exclusive pre-alpha test, set to commence on May 23 and run for a brief span of 72 hours.
On the BattlefieldComm X forum, the developer announced that they’ll be conducting a single, 72-hour Pre-Alpha Server Performance Test starting May 23, which will cover regions in Europe, North America, and certain parts of Asia as part of our continuous work to assess the future of Battlefield.
During the weekend’s testing phase, the developer aims to ensure the server runs smoothly and reliably under higher player numbers by conducting playtests. A limited selection of maps and game modes will be accessible for players to enjoy.
Once the playtesting phase is over, access to the game will be taken away from all participants. If you’d like to join the playtest, DICE requests that you register through Battlefield Labs on the Electronic Arts playtesting site.
As a gamer, it’s crucial to understand that not everyone who completes the survey stands a chance of being chosen, given the limited number of invitations available. The ones who make the cut will also be bound by a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), which means they can’t share much public info about what we’re working on. However, even with the NDAs in place, some Battlefield footage has managed to find its way online.
The title “Battlefield Labs” refers to the iterative design and testing phase for the upcoming Battlefield video game. Recently, DICE divulged updates on the advancements made at Battlefield Labs, praising the player involvement as instrumental in enhancing stability and balance across various elements of the game.
Starting in March, Battlefield Labs started admitting players, initially inviting only a few playtesters. As a result, the upcoming game’s pre-alpha testing phase, lasting 72 hours, will witness a significant increase in the number of people getting to interact with it directly.
This summer, we’ll get a complete unveiling of the upcoming Battlefield title. DICE expects it to hit shelves before March 2026.
