‘Women in Blue’ Renewed for Season 2 at Apple TV+

According to our sources, Apple TV+’s popular Spanish series “Women in Blue” (“Las Azules”) has been given the green light for a second season.

Barbra Mori is set to return as the main character, Maria, alongside other prominent actors such as Ximena Sariñana, Natalia Téllez, and Amorita Rasgado. The second season, comprising eight episodes, is currently being filmed.

According to Apple, the second season picks up where we left off with the tale of four trailblazing women who made history as Mexico’s first female police force. Having been promoted to lieutenant, María (Mori) now faces a challenging dilemma: while she is dedicated to following the rules, she is also compelled by an unyielding urge for truth when a university student’s murder leads to further casualties and uncovers a complex conspiracy. As the killings escalate and the roles of perpetrator, victim, and vigilante start to merge, María, Ángeles (Sariñana), Gabina (Rasgado) and Valentina (Téllez) find themselves navigating a labyrinth of hidden truths and emotional reckonings.

The series ‘Women in Blue’ was developed by Fernando Rovzar and Pablo Aramendi, who additionally function as showrunners, executive producers, and directors. Furthermore, Wendy Riss, Erica Sánchez Su, and Billy Rovzar are also named as executive producers. This production comes from Lemon Studios.”
