Kane & Lynch Movie With David Harbour Was Envisioned But It’s “Never Gotten Anywhere,” Director Says

The director Timo Tjahjanto of the Nobody 2 team disclosed that they intended to create a film adaptation of the 2007 game, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, however, the project ultimately failed to materialize.

In a social media update, Tjahjanto shared that several years back, he drafted a brief outline or concept for a Kane and Lynch film. He also mentioned his ideas for the main characters, specifically suggesting David Harbour and James Badge Dale as potential leads.

Just as numerous ventures in Hollywood, this project didn’t lead to anything concrete. In other words, as Tjahjanto put it, it hasn’t progressed beyond its initial stages (according to GamesRadar).

Years ago, when that property was still buzzing, I penned a brief story concept, envisioning James Badge Dale and David Harbour in the roles. Unfortunately, it didn’t go beyond the initial stage.

Back in 2010, I was all hyped up hearing about a Kane & Lynch film on the horizon, with Jamie Foxx stepping into Lynch’s shoes and Bruce Willis taking on the role of Kane. Alas, it seemed too good to be true, as it never materialized in the end.

In 2007, the action-adventure game Kane & Lynch hit the market for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. This game revolved around the tale of two mercenaries and their illicit activities. A follow-up titled Kane & Lynch: Dog Days was launched in 2010. Both games were created by IO Interactive, the same studio responsible for the Hitman series, who are currently working on a new James Bond project.

Regarding the action film titled “Nobody 2,” featuring Bob Odenkirk, penned by Derek Kolstad (who wrote the John Wick series), it will hit theaters this coming August.
