As a film enthusiast, I can’t help but feel a sense of camaraderie with late-night talk show hosts who are just as eager as I am for the revival of “Doctor Odyssey“. In the opening minute of the recent episode of “Last Week Tonight”, which ironically coincides with the time ABC should have announced a second season, John Oliver voiced my sentiments when he humorously inquired why ABC hasn’t commissioned another voyage for this “sexy ER on a boat.”
He delved into the absurdity that marked the first episode, likening it to an overdose of shrimp and a character breaking their penis. “How is it,” Oliver queried, “that ABC renews shows like ‘The Rookie’ or ‘Will Trent’, whose premise is apparently just ‘despite being dyslexic, he’s become a special agent in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation… What!'” He rhetorically asked. “But they haven’t renewed the only show brave enough to tackle the question: ‘What if sick but boat?'”
Now, the fate of this unique vessel is in ABC’s hands. Will they choose to dock it or set sail?
