‘Toy Story 5’ Adds Conan O’Brien

As a die-hard fan, I can’t contain my excitement to share that I’ll be lending my voice talents to Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 5,” set to hit the big screen on June 19, 2026! Guess who’ll be playing Smarty Pants? None other than Conan O’Brien himself! What a fantastic journey it promises to be!

In the fifth installment of the animated series, Buzz, Woody, Jessie, and their friends encounter a new hurdle when they’re exposed to today’s trending kids’ interest – technology. The movie is helmed by Academy Award-winning director Andrew Stanton, with McKenna Harris as co-director, and Jessica Choi serving as producer.

The movie is led by Oscar-winning director Andrew Stanton, with McKenna Harris as co-director, and Jessica Choi handling production duties.

As a movie enthusiast, I was thrilled to learn that Disney officially cast O’Brien for one of their upcoming projects, which they unveiled during their Licensing Expo presentation last Monday.

Apart from broadcasting the announcement on his personal social platforms, O’Brien playfully admitted that at first, he aspired to voice either Woody or Buzz Lightyear (characters voiced by Tom Hanks and Tim Allen), but ultimately discovered that Smarty Pants is indeed the most outstanding character among them all.

In 2019, “Toy Story 4” hit theaters to widespread praise and grossed over $1 billion globally at the box office. This film broke records for the largest opening of an animated movie, earning a staggering $244.5 million worldwide on its first day. Although some fans initially worried that “Toy Story 4” might tarnish the fitting farewell Pixar gave to the characters in the 2010’s “Toy Story 3,” their concerns proved unfounded as “Toy Story 4” was equally embraced, garnering both critical and commercial success.

Earlier this year, Allen mentioned that the upcoming “Toy Story” film is expected to primarily revolve around Jessie, the cowgirl character from “Toy Story 2”, who was notably given voice by Joan Cusack.

Allen mentioned that the story primarily revolves around Jessie,” he said. “Tom Hanks’ character and mine – Woody’s – have a significant change, and there’s an extraordinary opening scene featuring Buzz Lightyear. I can share that detail with you, but I can’t reveal much more.
