Star Wars Disney+ Series Coming After Andor Season 2 and Beyond

Six new Star Wars series (with an additional one rumored) are scheduled for release on Disney+ following the conclusion of “Andor” Season 2. The critically acclaimed Star Wars series on Disney+ wrapped up its two-season run in May, delivering on its promise to guide Diego Luna’s character, Cassian Andor, towards the events of “Rogue One.” Although that story has now come to a close, there are several loose ends set to be explored further on Disney+.

In essence, shows like The Mandalorian and Ahsoka have left many open-ended storylines that will be further explored in upcoming MandoVerse productions. Over the past few years, Star Wars enthusiasts have enjoyed an abundance of content, ranging from live-action to animation, including titles such as Visions, The Bad Batch, Skeleton Crew, The Acolyte, and Young Jedi Adventure. This diverse array of offerings caters to a wide range of fan preferences.

Star Wars Confirms 6 Disney+ Series for 2026 & Beyond

Visions Volume 3

Following the conclusion of Star Wars: Andor Season 2, fans can look forward to Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 on October 29th. This release will feature an impressive lineup of nine brand new shorts from a total of seven diverse Japanese animation studios.

In the second volume, we showcased brief animations from various studios globally, such as those from the U.K., India, France, and South Africa. For our 2025 release, we’ll be going back to our roots by focusing on extraordinary tales told in the distinctive style of Japanese anime.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that the creative powerhouses Kamikaze Douga, Kinema citrus Co., Production I.G, and TRIGGER will be back for Volume 3! But the excitement doesn’t stop there, as ANIMA, david production, Polygon Pictures, Project Studio Q, and WIT Studio are joining the festivities for the first time. Can’t wait to see what they bring to the table!

Young Jedi Adventures Season 3

Star Wars’ initial endeavor to bring the High Republic to life-action might not have been successful since The Acolyte was terminated after only one season on Disney+. However, the era prior to the Skywalker Saga is still being delved into through Young Jedi Adventures.

The show is primarily designed for younger audiences on Disney Junior, focusing on a band of novice learners mastering the principles of the Force and the virtues of a Jedi Master.

The Young Jedi Adventures series, which concluded Season 2 in March, is set to resume for Season 3 towards the end of 2025. Star Wars has announced some fresh faces joining us for this third installment, including three peculiar droids – Beepers, Dozer, and Gigi – as well as Dotti from Dotti’s Droid Deput and the eccentric droid inventor Rek Minuu.

Maul: Shadow Lord

At Star Wars Celebration 2025, Lucasfilm officially announced the long-awaited 3D-animated series on Disney+, titled “Maul: Dark Overlord“.

In the upcoming Disney+ series slated for release in 2026, actor Sam Witwer will once again portray the character of Maul, who was previously known as Darth Maul, following the events of “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”.

In the aftermath of the climactic events of The Clone Wars finale when Maul managed to break free from Ashoka Tano and the Republic during Order 66, the narrative of Shadow Lord unfolds as Maul devises a plan to reconstruct his criminal empire on an undisturbed planet away from the grasp of the Empire.

Visions Present – The Ninth Jedi

In Volume 3, titled “Child of Hope,” we’ll continue the story of Kara, a young woman with Force sensitivity, whose father was a renowned lightsaber-smith. Kara is now joining a freshly established Jedi order, as previously introduced in “The Ninth Jedi” from Volume 1 of “Visions.

Following the brief follow-up, the continuation of Kara’s tale unfolds in “Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi,” a more extensive standalone series set to debut on Disney+ in the year 2026.

Star Wars has revealed that the storyline of “Child of Hope” will conclude with Kara embarking on a quest to find her missing father, who specialized in creating Force-infused, color-shifting lightsabers. The upcoming “Visions Presents” series is anticipated to primarily explore Kara’s journey in locating her father, Zhima.

Ahsoka Season 2

The upcoming second season of the live-action Star Wars series on Disney+, titled “Ahsoka,” is being actively produced by director Dave Filoni. It’s set to debut on our screens in 2026.

2023’s season ended with several unresolved plot points: Ahsoka and Sabine found themselves stuck on Peridea, while Grand Admiral Thrawn managed an escape to the larger Star Wars universe, positioning himself as the potential main antagonist in the MandoVerse’s grand finale.

In a significant turn of events, Baylan Skoll’s storyline took an unexpected turn when he uncovered the statues of the Mortis gods on Peridea. Regrettably, the actor portraying Baylan, Ray Stevenson, passed away in 2023. Consequently, for Season 2, a new actor, Rory McCann from ‘Game of Thrones’, has been chosen to step into his role.

Carlton & Nick Cuse’s Show

Based on information from The Hollywood Reporter, it appears that Carlton Cuse, the showrunner of “Lost,” is collaborating with his son Nick Cuse, who has written for “Watchmen.” They are working together on a Star Wars series for Disney+, which is currently in its initial stages of development.

Although specifics are yet to be revealed, the Cuses’ history suggests this could be a live-action production. Given its current stage of development, viewers might not find it on Disney+’s home screen for quite some time.

The extensive list of credits for both Cuses is a compelling reason to anticipate their journey into a distant galaxy. While Carlton has garnered fame through shows like Lost, Bates Motel, and Jack Ryan, his son Nick has also built an impressive resume with roles in Watchmen, The Leftovers, Station Eleven, and Masters of the Air.

The Mandalorian Season 4 (Rumored)

As a film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the continuing saga of Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin and his adorable Baby Yoda sidekick will unfold once more on the grand screen. The date set for this epic reunion is May 22, 2026, in a movie titled The Mandalorian & Grogu. This is just one of the eight exciting Star Wars films that are currently being developed. Can’t wait to see what adventures lie ahead!

At first, it seemed like the Disney+ series “The Mandalorian” had been completely shifted towards a theatrical release. However, there’s some good news for fans as a source has reported that the streaming continuation of Season 4 is not canceled and is actually still in the process of being made.

Before the 2023 Hollywood strikes occurred, it was said that all scripts for Season 4 had already been penned. However, director Jon Favreau apparently shifted his attention towards the theatrical release instead.

It’s worth mentioning that a Season 4 for “The Mandalorian” has yet to be confirmed, and its possibility could depend on the success of the 2026 blockbuster movie.
