Beyond this, Ubisoft previewed what’s in store for the remainder of Year 10. Siege X coincides with a new season titled Operation Daybreak. This update introduces changes to the Defender Operator, Clash, allowing her to deploy her shield and electrify it from a distance. Operation Daybreak also includes various game balancing tweaks, including electricity slowing Operators instead of causing damage, reducing limb damage, and fine-tuning the abilities of Blackbeard, Jackal, Jäger, Thunderbird, and Sledge. The developers aim to improve their pace in implementing anti-cheat updates throughout the season as well.
In about three months or so, when Season 3 rolls around, we can expect the introduction of a brand new Operator to join the game, hailing from Switzerland and boasting a unique weapon. The season will also revamp popular maps like Nighthaven, Lair, and Consulate, reintroduce a Halloween event, and make some adjustments to Dual Front to accommodate the new Operator.
As for Season 4, it will mark Rainbow Six Siege’s 10th anniversary, so Ubisoft has planned a special in-game celebration for this milestone. This season will also bring more Operator and map remasters, upgrades to the training mode, and an exciting new playlist called Testing Grounds.
On June 10th, the new versions of Rainbow Six Siege (X) and Operation Daybreak will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Prior to this, a trial server for Siege X will be active from May 20th until June 9th.
