Eli Roth’s The Horror Section Inks Deal With Veronica Ferres’ Construction Film, Sets German-Language Remake of ‘Knock Knock’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Under the new agreement, Eli Roth’s newly established company, The Horror Section, has partnered with Construction Film – a film production company based in Germany, which was founded by producer and actress Veronica Ferres (“The Unforgivable,” “Salt and Fire”).

A long-term, joint financing and filmmaking agreement, forged in collaboration with Media Capital Technologies, has officially commenced, as announced by the unveiling of two narrative-focused movie projects.

Leading the lineup is a German-language adaptation of Eli Roth’s 2015 psychological crime thriller “Knock Knock,” previously starring Keanu Reeves and Ana de Armas. Roth will be involved in the production, and he is also working on writing and directing an original project titled “Final Cut.” This giallo feature, currently being developed, features Veronica Ferres in a key role. More information about all projects is kept confidential at this time.

As a movie enthusiast myself, I’m absolutely pumped to join forces with Veronica and her crew at Construction Film! Veronica is not just an exceptional actress but also a brilliant producer, and I can’t wait to collaborate with her as a director and producing partner.

With a stellar track record in international co-productions, I’m eager to amplify The Horror Section’s global influence by drawing on the incredible talent scattered throughout Europe. The universal appeal of horror films has always intrigued me, and I can’t wait to send chills and excitement rippling through audiences worldwide!

Feres expressed great enthusiasm about their creative collaboration. Eli Roth, an accomplished director and producer, has long been admired by Feres for his work. Roth is a distinctive filmmaker who’s now building his own cinematic world, and Feres can hardly wait to contribute to this endeavor, alongside partners Tobias Rosen and Ralf Berchtold.

Roth introduced The Horror Section in collaboration with MCT in March 2025, with a primary goal of establishing a strong library of intellectual property. This venture aims to create, purchase, and disseminate various forms of content such as independent movies for theaters, TV shows, video games, podcasts, and live events. MCT offers strategic assistance in areas like corporate finance, project financing, and operational management on a daily basis.

MCT and The Horror Section have revealed their intention to completely fund and produce Roth’s upcoming indie horror, “Ice Cream Man”. The Horror Section holds the U.S. rights for this movie, aiming for a nationwide cinema release in 2026. Roth himself has labeled the project as his “most petrifying and outrageous” film to date.

As a devoted cinephile, I’ve been captivated by the journey of Construction Film since its inception in 2013, masterminded by visionary Ferres. Our mission: to create top-tier feature films and television series, resonating not just with German audiences but also globally. Over the years, Ralf Berchtold has been an integral part of this company as a producer, while Tobias Rosen, a seasoned executive from Sky Germany, joined our team in 2024, bringing his wealth of experience to the table.

Distinguished global projects under Construction’s belt feature movies like “Shattered” with John Malkovich, “Crisis” with Gary Oldman, and “The Unforgivable,” featuring Viola Davis and Sandra Bullock. The company is gearing up for co-production on “The Weight,” which stars Ethan Hawke and Russell Crowe.

Eli Roth is represented by WME. Veronica Ferres is represented by CAA.
