One sequence hinted that all victims within the series share common bloodlines; the movie’s creators explain the intricate map of these deaths in detail.

The directors of “Final Destination: Bloodlines,” Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, have clarified that it is not a direct sequel to the earlier “Final Destination” films, as some might assume. In an interview, they explained this notion came about during their deliberations over the film’s death map, which lists everyone Iris saved from the Skyview Restaurant explosion, who all later died in various accidents, including their offspring. Instead, the directors describe “Bloodlines” as having a generational curse related to Death, and it seems possible that Iris may have connections to victims from previous films, even those who managed to evade death’s grasp.

Lipovsky stated that the names written on the death map were largely chosen at random. “We spent a considerable amount of time working on that wall,” he clarified. “If someone decides to pause and examine it closely, they will find a wealth of details about what transpired there.” However, he noted that there seems to be some misunderstanding regarding the source of Bloodlines within the series as a whole. One of the discussions they had in the beginning was whether this early event could potentially serve as the origin for all subsequent movies.

Final Destination Bloodlines Does Not Explain Previous Deaths In The Franchise

He concluded after a brief discussion that none of the other characters’ parents had died like Iris’ did, so it couldn’t be the start of the franchise. This is disappointing because Iris’ vision could have been the foundation for the series; it’s a twist as intriguing as the ending of Final Destination 5. However, Lipovsky is right because every Final Destination film begins with a death. He mentioned that the map is filled with Easter eggs; it contains news clippings about unusual accidents, and there’s a consistent pattern to the reports.

He playfully hinted that an intriguing aspect is that many characters who die later on meet their ends in manners reminiscent of their deaths at Skyview. This results in numerous news articles that echo the demises they suffered during the Skyview incident, but with variations occurring in the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s. Notably, most of these deaths are related to rollerblading accidents in the ’90s and other specific circumstances.

In the aftermath of the Skyview Restaurant accident, everyone who survived met their end, including Bludworth. The ending of Final Destination: Bloodlines was conclusive and raised the bar for the series. Lipovsky expressed a desire to direct a sequel, but only if it was the right move for them to delve deeper into it. He stated this during an interview.
