Jeremy Allen White Stars as Bruce Springsteen in Exciting Biopic Set for Fall

20th Century Studios has scheduled a theatrical premiere on October 24th for the eagerly awaited movie “Deliver Me From Nowhere,” featuring Jeremy Allen White portraying Bruce Springsteen. This information was shared with us recently.

In his most prominent movie appearance to date, the main character, previously known as The Bear, changes from wearing a hat (toque) to a denim jacket, under the direction of filmmaker Scott Cooper, who brings to life the story from Warren Zanes’ 2023 book with the same title.

Jeremy Allen White Becomes The Boss In October Film About Nebraska’s Creation

At CinemaCon, a sneak peek was given of White playing the renowned rock figure, showcasing clips where the beloved fictitious cook performed the legendary Springsteen song, “Born to Run.

White expressed his profound gratitude at CinemaCon, stating that having Bruce’s approval on the movie made it feel like a dream come true for everyone involved.

In the cast of “Deliver Me From Nowhere,” White is joined by Jeremy Strong, a renowned TV actor who won an Emmy, playing Jon Landau – Springsteen’s manager and producer in the film. The star-studded ensemble also includes Odessa Young, Paul Walter Hauser, Gaby Hoffmann, Marc Maron, and David Krumholtz. Springsteen and Landau actively participate in the production process, while Grammy-winning music producer Dave Cobb takes charge of the music following his previous collaborations with Springsteen, Jason Isbell, and Brandi Carlile.

The movie centres around a crucial phase in Springsteen’s career – the creation of the Nebraska album, a surprising shift towards simple voice and guitar tracks in his home studio, following his success with arena-rock anthems.

In October, the movie will be premiered, positioning it to compete against a growing number of films vying for awards in the award season, including “Wicked: For Good” and Yorgos Lanthimos’ film “Bugonia,” featuring Emma Stone as his regular co-star.

Studios are anticipating similar acclaim for the upcoming Springsteen biopic, as it follows in the footsteps of recent hits like “Bob Marley: One Love” and “A Complete Unknown,” which earned eight Oscar nominations last year. Furthermore, Sony is already preparing a four-part Beatles project set to release in 2028.

White has already made a name for himself in larger-scale biographical films, with his acclaimed performance in A24’s “The Iron Claw” as pro wrestler Kerry Von Erich. If he manages to secure award nominations next year, it would follow in the footsteps of Bruce Springsteen, who has amassed 20 Grammys, an Oscar, and a Special Tony Award throughout his career, leaving only an Emmy to complete the prestigious EGOT set. The energetic performances that made Springsteen famous were recently showcased in the “Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band” documentary, which is currently streaming on Hulu and Disney+.
