Outdoor Boys steps away from YouTube because he got too famous

The popular YouTube channel, Outdoor Boys, which is mainly managed by Luke Nichols, has decided to take an extended break starting today. According to him, the rapid growth of the channel is one of the primary factors behind this decision. He feels it’s important to halt operations now while he still can maintain a “regular lifestyle”.

Nichols isn’t making an error; instead, he’s one of the most swiftly expanding YouTubers on the platform. Within just 18 months, he managed to gain a staggering 12 million subscribers, increasing his following from approximately 2.5 million subs to nearly 15 million. He ranks among YouTube heavyweights like MrBeast, all this while maintaining no comments on his videos and having minimal social media presence.

Through his global journeys, whether accompanied by his family or embarking on independent travels, he has spellbound viewers. His unique ability to create exceptional outdoor content sets him apart from the majority of other YouTube producers, earning him immense acclaim.

Instead, his departure from the Outdoor Boys channel is largely because he’s become quite well-known.

Outdoor Boys explains sudden hiatus

Nichols shared that he’s invested an enormous amount of time and energy into creating content throughout the years, resulting in more than 1100 videos spread across two channels. Reducing the intensity of his efforts is a challenge, but the main reason for this change is the attention it generates towards him.

Occasionally, the immense number of followers wanting selfies, conversations, or simply approaching me in public becomes quite overpowering. My spouse and I share genuine apprehensions regarding how rapidly expanding my YouTube channel might impact our family life.

It’s crucial we address this issue now, before it spirals out of control to the point where my family and I can resume our usual, peaceful daily routines.

At present, each of his three sons express a desire to become successful YouTubers, and he is eager to support them in expanding their channels and developing content-making skills, rather than solely concentrating on his own YouTube endeavors.

Nichols is taking a significant break from creating new content, with plans to return at an unspecified point in the future. However, he has some incomplete YouTube videos that he intends to release by the end of 2025 before fully stepping away from his work.

Although it’s expected that Nichols will take some time before appearing on screen again in his personal productions, he might make an appearance in the YouTube content of his sons, particularly on channels such as Outdoor Tom.
