Disneyland Celebrates 70 Years with New Rides, Food, and Magical Surprises

Disneyland has kicked off its 70th anniversary celebrations.

Beginning this coming Friday and continuing until the summer of 2026, the Anaheim theme park will be celebrating its seventy years in operation with a variety of festivities spread throughout the resort. Every aspect, including decorations, food, and even the attractions themselves, has been imbued with the park’s special touch of magical pixie dust.

Between Disneyland and California Adventure, visitors can marvel at a 50-foot statue modeled after Sleeping Beauty Castle. This stunning structure is adorned with vibrant glass panels and gold trinkets symbolizing the original five realms.

At Town Square’s center, there’s a special setup celebrating our anniversary with Mickey and Minnie as its stars, and the castle of Sleeping Beauty boasts a sophisticated emblem to mark the occasion.

In honor of the festivities, some attractions and amusements have received updates, including the incorporation of “Coco’s” characters, Miguel and his faithful companion Dante, into the timeless It’s a Small World Ride.

A new verse penned by the Sherman Brothers for “It’s a Small World” will now be included in the attraction.

Fresh performances are going to enliven the park’s entertainment lineup. Starting off, “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!” from Disney Junior is set to premiere, offering delightful character interactions and catchy new tunes.

At California Adventure Park, the celebrations persist as World of Color‘s Happiness takes center stage. This enchanting nighttime water show, featuring synchronized fountains, music, and beloved character depictions along Pixar Pier, commences with Walt Disney’s warm greeting: “To all who enter this joyful place…welcome!

The character Joy from “Inside Out, voiced by Amy Poehler, is the host of this show, accompanied by other emotions like Sadness and Anger. Characters from various Disney tales such as “Turning Red,” “A Goofy Movie,” “Encanto,” and beloved stories including “The Muppets” also make an appearance.

The performance is set to feature well-known Disney tunes, along with a unique version of “Rainbow Connection,” performed by Boyz II Men.

In this screening, we’ll be showcasing “The Little Mermaid,” “Turning Red,” “A Goofy Movie,” as well as “Tangled,” “Encanto,” “Toy Story,” “Aladdin,” “Cinderella,” “Snow White,” and “Lilo & Stitch” (and a few more) on the big screen.

The Paint the Night parade is back, illuminating the night with over a million vibrant LED lights. This spectacular event will once again light up the sky, and to make it even more magical, Wondrous Journeys will showcase cutting-edge projections. And for an extra touch of wonder, fireworks will be added on certain nights!
