The cunningly designed deadly traps from the realm of horror are back on the silver screen with the release of “Final Destination Bloodlines” in cinemas this weekend.
The R-rated horror movie from Warner Bros. and New Line is projected to rake in $5.5 million during its Thursday previews at the box office. With estimates predicting an opening weekend of anywhere between $35 million and $45 million, this would be a record-breaking start for the franchise. It’s anticipated that it will also earn around $35 million overseas, bringing its global debut to approximately $70 million to $80 million. Given its production cost of around $50 million, the film looks set to bring in another substantial profit for Warner Bros., following their recent successes with “Sinners” and “A Minecraft Movie” last month.
In 2009, “The Final Destination” was the fourth installment of the series to be released, and it currently boasts the highest opening weekend box office of any film in the franchise, earning a staggering $28.3 million. Trailing closely behind are “Final Destination 3,” which made $19.1 million on its opening weekend, and “Final Destination 5” with a $18.4 million debut.

The movie “The Final Destination,” the fourth one to be released in 2009, has set the franchise’s record for the largest opening weekend box office, raking in an impressive $28.3 million. The previous top-earners were “Final Destination 3,” which grossed $19.1 million on its debut, and “Final Destination 5” with a $18.4 million start.
In the battle at the box office, “Bloodlines,” the sixth film in the “Final Destination” series, aims to surpass Marvel’s current champion, “Thunderbolts,” which has reigned for the past two weeks. However, “Thunderbolts” is expected to earn an additional $15 million to $18 million in its third week. To date, it has made $127.7 million domestically and $271 million worldwide, all on a production budget of $180 million.
In a span of fourteen years since the initial “Final Destination” film, we have a new installment titled “Bloodlines”. This story revolves around a college student whose family members are meeting their untimely ends in uniquely chilling manners. This is because her grandmother had cheated death many years ago. The ensemble cast includes Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Rya Kihlstedt, Tony Todd, Gabrielle Rose and others.
Additionally, debuting this weekend is “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” a movie adaptation of the Weeknd’s latest album by the same name. It’s being released by Lionsgate and features Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan among its cast. This psychological thriller is projected to earn between $5 million and $7 million during its opening weekend.
