“He was even scarier than Alan Rickman.” One Harry Potter actor terrified Daniel Radcliffe for several years

During the initial three years working together on Harry Potter, Alan Rickman gave Daniel Radcliffe a sense of apprehension as he mistakenly believed that Rickman disliked him. This unease stemmed from the intimidating tone in Rickman’s voice as Snape. Interestingly, these emotions proved beneficial for Radcliffe in portraying Harry’s fear towards the professor. Over time, however, Rickman revealed a more compassionate side to Radcliffe, offering valuable support and becoming one of his key allies on set.

As a gamer putting myself in Harry Potter’s shoes, let me tell you that on the movie sets, there was another actor who gave Daniel Radcliffe chills beyond what we felt from Alan Rickman. That man was none other than Ralph Fiennes, the one who brought Lord Voldemort to life, my sworn enemy. However, after some time, I grew accustomed to working with Alan. On the other hand, Ralph continued to instill a sense of fear in me for several years following our first encounters.

For several years that Fiennes played opposite Radcliffe in the “Harry Potter” series, his portrayal was so convincing that it seemed to genuinely make Radcliffe nervous during their scenes together. This apprehension we saw on screen in the young wizard may have been Radcliffe’s actual response to Fiennes’ intense performance as Voldemort.
