Rupert Friend Joins Lily James in Emotional Thriller ‘Photo Booth’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Rupert Friend has joined the cast of upcoming emotional thriller “Photo Booth.”

Ewan McGregor, famous for his roles in “Obi-Wan Kenobi” and “Companion,” is set to attend Cannes for Wes Anderson’s film titled “The Phoenician Scheme.” He has been chosen as the main male character, sharing the screen with Lily James and Raffey Cassidy.

This movie signifies the first full-length directorial venture of Australian duo Spencer and Lloyd Harvey, who are siblings. It’s categorized as a “tense emotional thriller” that delves into the most fundamental decisions we make concerning love, aspiration, and family creation. HanWay is in charge of international distribution at Cannes, while UTA Independent Film Group takes care of sales within North America. The film commences principal photography this October, both in Australia and London.

In the “Photobooth” production, your friend will play the role of Ben, who is married to James. Ben is a gifted portrait artist, but he’s struggling to step out of the limelight cast by his successful wife and renowned father. However, things become complicated when he finds himself in an emotionally charged love triangle. His wife, longing for a child, is one corner of this triangle, while the other is Cassidy, a young waitress with whom Ben becomes pregnant. This situation is messy, but filled with tension.

Cathy Konrad, known for “Girl Interrupted” and “Walk the Line,” along with her production company Tree Line Films, are teaming up with Parodos Prods., helmed by James and Gala Gordon (upcoming projects include “Swiped” and “Cliffhanger”). This collaboration will also involve Carver Films, a company based in Australia led by Sarah Shaw and Anna McLeish, who have worked on films such as “Relic” and “Run Rabbit Run.

Spencer and Lloyd Harvey are a duo of sibling filmmakers, specializing in both scriptwriting and fine art photography. Their screenplay for “Photo Booth” was honored with the 2016 Academy Nicholl Fellowship, an award granted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
