Consortium Media Finance Launches at Cannes and Unveils First Slate of Feature Productions (EXCLUSIVE)

The media financing consortium, Consortium Media Finance, established by Marcus Warren and Christian Moore (son of renowned actor Roger Moore), made its debut at the Cannes Film Festival. They unveiled their initial lineup of upcoming feature film projects.

In partnership with their sister firm, Consortium Pictures, Consortium Media Finance is well-positioned to blend strong financial resources with artistic and business acumen, assisting filmmakers and production houses in transforming captivating narratives into reality on the big screen. This was stated by the company itself.

The lineup of the first productions for these companies features a film titled “Paintbox,” helmed by documentary maker Lorna Tucker, renowned for her works like “Westwood: Punk, Icon, Activist.” The script was penned by music producer Arthur Baker, and it is overseen by novelist Irvine Welsh, best known for writing “Trainspotting.

The term “Paintbox” refers to a lively, humorous, and satirical adventure, filled with mischief, that unfolds within the vibrant setting of the London art world.

After publishing my book “Bare” and the documentary “Garbo: Where Did You Go?”, I’m thrilled about this chance to stir things up and redefine the gangster caper comedy genre. I aim to give powerful female characters a voice, a first in this genre, while also incorporating outlandish and daring storytelling. I can’t wait to create a comedy that critiques the commercialization of artists and the current state of the modern art world, focusing on creatives.

The second film under production is titled “Only the Guilty,” an exhilarating action-thriller helmed by Will Gilbey (“Jericho Ridge,” “The Courier”). It promises a modern, unyielding perspective on the pursuit of righteousness.

The Consortium is additionally creating “Rogue Male,” an innovative spy series based on Roger Field’s novel, with Moore and Warren serving as producers. It is described as “a daring evolution of the spy thriller,” drawing upon the legacy of Moore’s family history to create a completely unique intellectual property intended for worldwide viewers.

Consortium Pictures is teaming up with Voltage Pictures on multiple ventures, and they’re also talking to big studio partners and streaming services about potential partnerships.

As a cinephile, I’m thrilled to announce The Consortium’s dedication to smart, profitable, and culturally significant storytelling. We stand tall with a lineup that embodies the richness, vigor, and worldwide aspirations that underpin our vision.

Moore stated: ‘Our goal is to strengthen filmmakers and establish long-lasting series. With the cooperation of our allies and associates, The Consortium is ready to take a leading role in the upcoming era of movie production and funding.’

Consortium Media Finance operates from its headquarters in London, whereas Consortium Pictures has its base in both Los Angeles and Monaco.
