Acting legend Al Pacino is now part of the ensemble for “Maserati: The Brothers,” a biographical film helmed by director Bobby Moresco. It tells the story of the famed Italian family behind the powerful cars that, alongside Ferrari and Lamborghini, have earned Italy its reputation in the world of high-performance automobiles.
In the movie, it was revealed that Pacino would make an appearance, as shared by producer Andrea Iervolino. However, a representative for Pacino had yet to provide a response when asked for comment right away.
As a fervent admirer, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be witnessing the extraordinary talent of Al Pacino as he embodies businessman Vincenzo Vaccaro in the upcoming film “Maserati”. This remarkable individual was instrumental in supporting the Maserati family and investing during the company’s formative years. Furthermore, joining this stellar cast are Gina La Piana, who has captivated audiences with her performance in “Intentional”, and Tatiana Luter, renowned for her role in “Rudy Valentino”. According to a statement by Iervolino, these talented individuals will grace the screen alongside Pacino.
The actors lined up for the upcoming “Maserati” film include Anthony Hopkins, Andy Garcia, Jessica Abla, Michele Morrone, and Salvatore Esposito.
Maserati, a luxury car brand, was established in 1914, originally as a garage-based business, within the heart of Bologna, Italy. Three brothers, Alfieri, Ettore, and Ernesto, were its founders. The company’s symbol, the trident, mirrors one discovered at the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna. From its inception, Maserati has been intertwined with the realm of auto racing. Its first Grand Prix racing car, known as “Type 26,” was significant as it was this vehicle that Alfieri Maserati was driving during the 1927 Messina Cup race, where he suffered a near-fatal crash. Regrettably, Alfieri passed away in 1932, aged 44, due to complications from that accident. Later on, in 1937, the brothers sold a majority stake of the company, which is now owned by Fiat, while still maintaining some involvement.
In the biopic, it’s “Modì” (Iervolino) who takes the role as the main producer. Meanwhile, Nicki Cortese and Wayne Marc Godfrey, associates from Bright White Light (“The Beast”), are contributing financially and overseeing the project as co-producers.
Filming of the movie “Maserati” for its concluding stage will commence in Rome during June. The movie is set to have a global debut in the early autumn of 2025, as confirmed by Iervolino.
