Christina Hendricks, Cary Elwes, Mena Massoud to Star in Sam Kadi Political Thriller ‘The American Spring’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Actors Christina Hendricks, Cary Elwes, and Mena Massoud have been announced as the leads for “The American Spring.” This project is being directed by Sam Kadi, a filmmaker from Los Angeles who hails from Syria. The film in question is a political thriller.

Amidst a time of intense national discord, the story unfolds around Dominic Nelson, a Massachusetts governor whose aspirations for the presidency are thwarted in the heated and divisive primary election process.

In this version, I aimed to keep the original meaning while making it more conversational and easier to read by replacing formal terms like “backdrop” with “time” and “follows” with “unfolds around.” Additionally, I replaced “primary race” with “heated and divisive primary election process,” which is a more descriptive and informal way of saying the same thing.

Deciding to step away from the traditional two-party system, Nelson embarks on an independent political journey, enlisting Fred Hoffman – a controversial political scientist and old friend – as his campaign manager. Their innovative platform and unconventional strategy for rescuing America sparks intense discussion nationwide. However, an unexpected twist places Hoffman at the center of the campaign, propelling both men into a politically tumultuous whirlwind that could either heal the nation or shatter it.

As I embark on this venture, it’s more than just a project for me – it’s a lifelong dream that has been with me for over a decade. Initially, it may have seemed too avant-garde, but now, its time has finally arrived. I am Kadi, an artist recognized for my works with political undertones, such as the documentary “Little Gandhi,” detailing the life and demise of the young Syrian peace activist Ghiyath Matar, and the Oscar-nominated animated film “Lamya’s Poem,” which I had the privilege to produce.

The movie is quite relevant, but what stands out the most is its impartial perspective, which benefits everyone,” he continued.

Kim Zubick, known for ‘The Zookeeper’s Wife’ and Togo, along with partner Kadi, will start pre-sales for their upcoming project titled ‘American Spring’ at the Cannes Film Festival.

The executive producers are Matthew Helderman, Luke Taylor, Adam Harris Engelhard, and Stephen Mastrocola from Buffalo 8, and filming is set to start towards the end of this year.

Kadi is represented by Brian Judy of Bohemia Group, while Elwes is associated with Link Entertainment, Independent Artist Group, and Hamilton Hodell individually, and also jointly with Link Entertainment. On the other hand, Hendricks and Massoud both are linked to Link Entertainment, alongside Gersh in the case of Massoud, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller for Massoud as well.
