The Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time Remake Will Launch By March 2026, Ubisoft Says

Ubisoft has officially shared a release timeline for the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, and it’s expected to hit shelves no later than March 2026.

During today’s financial briefing, Ubisoft announced that they aim to launch the Sands of Time remake within their fiscal year 2025-26, which concludes on March 31, 2026. This new information provides a more specific release window for the game, as earlier reports stated only a 2026 release.

Approximately six years after its initial announcement, the release of this game is imminent. Ubisoft initially hinted at the Sands of Time remake as early as 2020 for older gaming platforms. However, since then, its development has been fraught with challenges, including a change in development teams a few years ago due to fan criticism of the initial trailer and a missed launch date. Given these circumstances, it seems likely that the remake, now being developed by Ubisoft Montreal, will be released for modern gaming consoles.

To inform investors, Ubisoft is strategically placing the remake within a financial recovery plan for FY2025-26. Alongside this remake, their upcoming portfolio consists of Anno 1811, The Division Resurgence, and Rainbow Six Mobile. Nevertheless, the company has revealed that several titles will be postponed beyond the current fiscal year, and they anticipate implementing further cost reduction strategies in the coming period.

Following a series of unfavorable events for the company such as multiple layoffs, studio closures, and declining profits, Ubisoft has announced a corporate reorganization aimed at focusing resources on its flagship franchises like Assassin’s Creed, Rainbow Six, and Far Cry. This restructuring also includes a significant new investment from Tencent.
