The highly anticipated adaptation of Rick Riordan’s young adult fantasy book series is slated for release in December 2025, and this time it delves into the Bermuda Triangle, offering a television interpretation of Riordan’s The Sea of Monsters.
In the upcoming Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, a surprising sneak peek revealed the introduction of a colossal sea monster. This monstrous, serpent-like creature is bound to be familiar to viewers since its emergence signifies an important event from the tale of the Sea of Monsters in the original book series.
The newly released poster from Disney+ went live online following appearances by several Percy Jackson cast members at the 2025 Disney Upfront event on Tuesday, 13th May.
The poster displays Walker Scobell as Percy Jackson, wielding his sword while gazing at a turbulent ocean landscape ravaged by a storm. In the midst of the crashing waves, an imposing, tentacle-like structure rises and lashes about, facing off against our young title character from the show.
In this TV show, it appears as though they’ve created a massive sea creature reminiscent of Scylla, a character known for its scaly appearance from the “Sea of Monsters” book. The series seems to be influenced by Greek mythology, where Scylla is found. This fearsome beast, towering in size, is said to be a man-eating monster, positioned opposite another dreadful creature called Charybdis, both of which are legendary monstrosities in the realm of maritime folklore.
Audience members were treated to a sneak peek of the upcoming show during Disney’s 2025 Upfront presentation this week, and hints about the new season have begun to surface, as shared by @oraculosemideus on X.
In December 2023, the series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” premiered on Disney+, narrating the tale of Percy (Walker Scobell), who finds himself in a realm of gods and legends after uncovering the possibility that he could be the offspring of the Greek deity Poseidon.
In Season 2, we will welcome back beloved characters from the initial series, such as Leah Sava Jeffries portraying Annabeth Chase, Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood, and Dior Goodjohn in the role of Clarisse La Rue.
