In the gripping finale of Andor‘s second season, I found myself witnessing Dedra Meero‘s (Denise Gough) heart-wrenching fate. Her unwavering devotion to the Empire, a central theme in her storyline throughout the series, ultimately led to a dramatic turn of events. Rising through the ranks to become an influential figure in the Imperial Security Bureau (ISB), Dedra’s loyalty had been instrumental, but it ultimately proved costly for her.

In Season 2 of Andor, Dedra found herself mingling with Director Orson Krennic (played by Ben Mendelsohn), along with 15 other familiar Star Wars characters. This interaction led Dedra to assume a supervisory role on Ghorman, serving as a means to legitimize the Imperial presence on the planet. Did Dedra Survive After The Events of Rogue One?

During her odyssey, Dedra harbored intense disdain for what she called her “lawless kin,” constantly seeking to separate herself from them. Ironically, by the end, she found herself in a similar predicament: confined as a prisoner with slim prospects of escape.

In the original trilogy, it remains unclear what became of Dedra and the other Narkina prisoners following the Empire’s fall. Some assume that they might have been eliminated before the war ended, as their presence could symbolize the Empire’s defeat at the hands of the Rebels when they destroyed the Death Star in “A New Hope”, serving as a subtle reminder of the Empire’s downfall.

Others asserted that the New Republic had saved them, put them on trial, and subsequently offered them either extended imprisonment or an opportunity for early release through parole.

Some spectators speculate that the detainees of Narkina might not have been physically contacted even following the Empire’s downfall. It’s possible the prison is still operating, and since their location is so remote, they might be unaware of the events of the Galactic War.
