Are you into Japanese automotive culture or do you enjoy racing games that mimic real-life scenarios? If your answer is affirmative to either question, then you should keep an eye out for JDM: Japanese Drift Master. This upcoming game allows you to traverse an open world, participate in street races, and modify your vehicle. The game is slated for release on PC on May 21, 2025. However, have we got some exciting news for console enthusiasts? Could there be future ports available for PS5, Switch, and Xbox?
Japanese Drift Master – Console (PS5, Switch and Xbox) release explained
Next week, the highly anticipated game titled “Japanese Drift Master” will become available on PC platforms such as Steam, GOG.com, and Epic Games Store. Unfortunately, console enthusiasts should note that for the time being, this game is only playable on computers.
Currently, there’s no specific details about ports for different gaming platforms. On the official JDM Discord server, developers have indicated they are primarily focusing on the PC version. When questions about console versions arise, they usually suggest keeping an eye on future announcements. This implies that Gaming Factory might be planning to develop ports for other platforms as well. This assumption is further supported by Lead Game Designer Wojciech Babinski, who mentioned in a statement to Traxion that the porting process will begin following the release of the PC version.
If the game “Japanese Drift Master” is planned for console release, then it’s most likely we’ll see it on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. It’s also possible that it may appear on Nintendo Switch or even a future version of it.
As a gamer, it seems that releasing the game on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One might not happen since they’ve stopped producing those systems officially. Yet, it’s still possible to see new games popping up on these platforms every now and then, so who knows?
Japanese Drift Master – minimum system requirements on PC
The positive aspect here is that the basic system specifications needed aren’t particularly demanding. Thus, if you’re eager to explore Japanese Drift Master, and happen to own a computer, you might as well attempt to run the game.
