Andor Showrunner Debunks Kleya-Cassian Sister Theory

In the final episode of Andor’s second season, an intriguing dilemma was left hanging: where did Cassian’s sister end up? Given the speculation among fans that Kleya could potentially be his long-lost sibling, director Tony Gilroy has shed some light on why her destiny remains a mystery.

In the initial season of Star Wars, we learn that Cassian was parted from his sister Kerri at a tender age while they resided on Kenari. Maarva and Clem Andor discovered him abandoned and subsequently took him away off-world, which left Kerri bewildered about her brother’s sudden disappearance.

The performance started by depicting Cassian going to a brothel in Morlana One, as he’d been informed a woman from Kenari was employed there. Regrettably, she had already moved on months earlier, and Maarva eventually advised him to cease his search for her – reassuring him that their separation wasn’t his fault.

During an interview with Deadline, Gilroy shared that initially, he conceived a more emotional tale for Cassian’s sister in Season 2, but ultimately decided the show was better off without it.

He said, “At first, I took action since I often tend to leave tasks unfinished until I can revisit them later.

However, upon placing it with my sister, I was unsure of how to resolve the situation, and at some point… but as time passed, I came to understand, as I grew more acquainted with Cassian, a significant void in his life; the act of leaving her behind created a gap that can never be filled.

During the show, in what instances does he return for others? Notably, it’s mentioned that ‘Cassian will find us.’ This implies that he returns to help Maarva and also Kleya.

In Episode 12, Vel advises Mon Mothma that Cassian ought to “cease attempting rescues” as it consistently lands him in difficult situations. However, it’s important to note that he won’t be able to rescue every person who needs help.
