MPX Launches Sales on Michael Shannon Darts Comedy ‘Bulls’ in Cannes (EXCLUSIVE)

The Motion Picture Exchange (MPX) is initiating global sales for the sports comedy movie titled “Bulls” during the Cannes market. This movie stars and was co-produced by Michael Shannon, with a plot revolving around the intriguing world of competitive darts.

In the movie “Bulls,” directed by newcomer Dan Meyer, we follow the story of two struggling half-brothers from Indiana who own a nearly bankrupt dive bar. They unexpectedly have an opportunity to challenge England’s top darts teams.

I’m about to embark on a thrilling adventure, led by an enigmatic local character who harbors a mysterious past. With our tavern, our reputation, and the future of darts in America hanging in the balance, my brothers and I will need to aim for the perfect shot that could define our lives.

I recently had the pleasure of watching a captivating indie film, which marks the second feature from Plot 4 Prods., a visionary production company co-founded by Shannon, Meyer, Christian Chadd Taylor, and Seth Henrikson. This masterpiece, skillfully crafted by Meyer, is not only written but also directed by him. The production of this film is overseen by Kelsey Bunner, Ryan Lewis, Travis Keyes, Royce Williams, and, of course, our talented director, Meyer.

More recently, Shannon has appeared in various TV series including “George & Tammy,” which earned him an Emmy nomination, as well as “Waco” and “Nine Perfect Strangers.” He’s also been recognized with two Academy Award nominations; one for “Nocturnal Animals” and another for “Revolutionary Road.” Apart from these, his film credits include roles in “The Shape of Water,” along with numerous collaborations with Jeff Nichols on films such as “Take Shelter,” “Midnight Special,” “Mud,” and “The Bikeriders.
