As a cinephile eagerly awaiting the next cinematic masterpiece, I’m thrilled to share that Vertigo Releasing, in tandem with Wildcard Distribution, has set the UK digital release date for “Amongst The Wolves”. This gripping new crime thriller from renowned Irish director Mark O’Connor will grace our screens on all major digital platforms starting from June 2nd.
In the realm of gripping narratives, O’Connor, renowned for “Cardboard Gangsters” and “King of the Travellers,” offers his signature hard-hitting, genuine storytelling in “Amongst The Wolves.” This work provides a brutally honest portrayal of the ruthless underworld of organized crime, shedding light on its intense, gritty nature and the delicate bonds that keep it intact.
This intense, emotional crime thriller features Aidan Gillen, a Golden Globe® nominee known for “Game of Thrones,” “Kin,” and “Love/Hate,” alongside Luke McQuillan, who’s been seen in “Darklands” and “Game of Thrones.” Also starring are Jade Jordan, Louise Bourke, Helen Behan, and newcomer Daniel Fee.
This movie, penned by both O’Connor and McQuillan, narrates the story of Danny, a homeless man wandering the streets of Dublin who’s haunted by the ghosts from his own past. He finds himself trapped in a vicious cycle of sorrow and struggle for survival. Haunted by recollections of his military service with the Royal Irish Army in Afghanistan, Danny’s life takes an unexpected turn when he comes across Will, a young boy fleeing from a ruthless drug gang. In spite of his own emotional turmoil, Danny decides to protect Will and their relationship grows into something deep and significant. However, as Power and his merciless gang come after them, Danny is forced to confront his personal demons and fight against the shadows of his past in order to keep Will safe.
