Kevin Spacey Joins Cast of Conspiracy Thriller ‘The Awakening,’ Sales Launching in Cannes

Kevin Spacey is set to appear in the upcoming movie titled “The Awakening,” a mystery action-thriller. This will be another opportunity for the twice-Oscar-winning actor, as he aims to regain momentum in his career following his acquittal from sexual misconduct allegations.

Initially unveiled a year ago, “The Awakening,” helmed by Matt Routledge, boasts an impressive cast that includes Peter Stormare (known for “Fargo” and “John Wick: Chapter 2”), Alice Eve (“Star Trek Into Darkness” and “Men in Black”), Steve Berkoff (“Red 2” and “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”), Julian Glover (“Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade” and “Game of Thrones”), Matt Hookings (Prizefighter), former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall from “Expendables 4,” and introduces Justin Tinto to the big screen.

The Unraveling” – In this gripping tale, we follow the journey of Jason (Tinto) and Rebecca (Eve), who embark on an exhilarating pursuit to unmask a global conspiracy. As they delve deeper into the mystery, they find themselves tangled in a labyrinth of hidden truths, escalating their mission to reveal the truth before it’s too late.

The movie is being made by Camelot Films, with Tinto contributing financing as well. At present, it’s in the post-production phase. The screenplay was collaboratively written by Tinto, Routledge, and Matt Hookings. Alongside Hookings, Tim Kent produces the film, while Tinto, Sally Woodward, Adrian Goodisman, and Patatian serve as executive producers.

In charge of the various departments behind the scenes are editor Chris Gill, director of photography Laszlo Bille, and stunt coordinator Luke Tumber. Chris Gill has previously worked on films such as “Kneecap” and “28 Days Later”. Laszlo Bille is known for his work in “Bladerunner 2049” and “Dune: Part One”, while Luke Tumber’s credits include “Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One” and “Venom: The Last Dance”.

After being found not guilty on all nine counts of sexual misconduct in a British court trial held in 2023, Kevin Spacey has since accumulated several acting roles, primarily in Europe. Some of these include the movies “Control” and “Peter Five Eight.
