That’s right, the headline you’re reading is accurate: The legendary Counter-Strike player, Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, will be representing FaZe Clan in the next two competitions!
For the events IEM Dallas 2025 (May 19–25) and BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 (June 2–22), Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev is temporarily playing for FaZe Clan, filling in the AWPer role that was previously held by Helvijs “broky” Saukants. Broky was benched following FaZe’s subpar performance during the initial months of the 2025 season.
Without a doubt, it’s widely acknowledged that s1mple is considered one of the greatest CS:GO players ever, yet due to the ongoing conflict, he has reduced his involvement in CS:GO, only briefly joining Team Falcons in an unsuccessful bid to qualify for the Shanghai Major.
