Following the conclusion of the previous episode, The Last of Us Season 2 Episode 5 is anticipated to continue with Ellie’s pursuit of Abby’s group. Be sure to mark your calendars for its release date!
The third installment provided some respite following Joel’s demise, yet the fourth one reverted back to the familiar terrain of The Last of Us – our characters navigating a perilous wilderness and battling against the infected.
Following a series reminiscent of the game, Ellie and Dina managed to flee a swarm of infected in an underground subway passage. This incident resulted in two significant discoveries: Dina discovered that Ellie is immune, while Ellie herself found out that Dina is expecting – with Jesse being the potential father. Additionally, we met Isaac, a powerful figure who heads the WLF organization.
Just a heads up, there are just six more episodes left in Season 2. So, we’re close to reaching the second-to-last one, but beware of some minor game spoilers ahead…

What will happen in Episode 5?
In the upcoming Episode 5 of The Last of Us Season 2, we can anticipate that Ellie’s adventure will lead her to Lakehill Hospital in Seattle. During this journey, it is likely that she will encounter Nora, who is part of Abby’s group.
To be fair, the show doesn’t strictly follow the narrative of Part 2, as it has made some adjustments; for example, Ellie’s immunity revelation unfolds differently in the game, Tommy appears to have remained in Jackson while they journeyed to Chicago, and we haven’t had many interactions with the Seraphites yet.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but feel the clock is ticking faster with each passing moment. With Episode 6 promising to delve deep into Joel and Ellie’s fractured bond prior to Season 2, it’s crucial that Episode 5 keeps the story moving forward.
There’s some uncertainty about when character Joel will reappear in The Last of Us Season 2, but considering the statements made by Neil Druckmann, it seems reasonable to anticipate that he might appear in Episode 6.
Episode 6 is exceptionally heartfelt as it delves deeply into the essence of the series, featuring beloved characters that will touch viewers, whether they’re fans of the TV show or the original games. According to Neil Druckmann, this episode will undoubtedly stir strong emotions in its audience.
Fellow collaborator Halley Gross expressed her thoughts as follows: “I believe that episode 6 holds something truly extraordinary. To me, six is an exceptionally moving tale, and I feel honored to have contributed to its creation.
Additionally, you might discover why Ellie placed coffee beans on Joel’s tombstone and learn about the fate of Shimmer in the game as well.
