Valve Completely Reworks Deadlock Item Shop, Adding “Many” New Items

In your next play session of Deadlock, you’ll notice a substantial change in the item store because the developers have given it a complete makeover. They’ve added fresh items, icons, prices, and other enhancements to the shop. Contrary to what the patch notes suggest about the significant update being released soon, it’s already active within the game.

Previously, item slots were connected to particular tree types, but now they will be universal across all trees. This change eliminates an issue where certain heroes might feel less powerful because they required up to six items of a specific kind to effectively retaliate after getting behind. In the past, you could unlock four flexible slots that served the same purpose. Since the total number of slots is now reduced from 16 to 12, it seems that these flexible slots are no longer an option for unlocking.

In the latest updates, a multitude of fresh goods are being stocked in the store, as per the release notes. Additionally, all item symbols now feature updated visuals, making it simpler to recognize each item’s function and purpose.

The structure of tier bonuses is going to be revamped, and they will no longer depend on each individual purchase you make. Instead, the benefits are determined by the total amount you spend within a specific item category. However, it’s crucial to understand that these benefits aren’t linear, meaning that completing one category entirely might not yield the maximum benefits in terms of the bonuses you’ll receive.

If you’re wondering if a particular upgrade is purchasable, the ones that can be upgraded will now emit a glow.

It turns out that aside from the exclusive, invitation-only closed alpha test, there exists another, less publicly acknowledged test version of the game. This hidden version was inadvertently broadcasted to an audience when a streamer unintentionally ran the incorrect version during his livestream.
