Instead of battling it out in action games or strategic battles, we found solace in word games like Wordle and Words with Friends. These games served as a comforting distraction as I grappled with the weighty decision that hung over me: would I be elected the new pope?
But fate moved swiftly, and on the very second day of the conclave, my name was called out, and I became the new pope. The word games were set aside, replaced by the responsibilities and duties of my new role.
Additionally, John shared that it was his brother who had just seen the film “Conclave 2024,” which narrates the process of selecting a new Pope.
John mentioned that he wanted to distract his brother from the seriousness of the situation, so they could share a laugh, because assuming the role of the new Pope represented a remarkable and significant responsibility.
During the recent conclave, Robert Prevost abstained from playing video games, given that all cardinals were required to hand over their phones prior to casting votes in the Sistine Chapel for the selection of a new pope.
This year on Easter Monday, Pope Francis, aged 88, sadly passed away. He had been serving as pope since the year 2013. Notably, Pope Francis owned at least one video game – a gifted copy of Undertale. Furthermore, there are reports suggesting that Baldur’s Gate 3 was sold within Vatican City, though the identity of the purchaser remains unknown.
