‘Law & Order,’ ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Renewed at NBC

NBC has announced that both “Law & Order” and “Law & Order: SVU” will continue airing during the 2025-2026 television season, according to our latest information.

In its 25th season, “Law & Order” and “SVU” will be back on air due to their renewals. They are currently the only Dick Wolf productions on broadcast TV waiting for news about upcoming seasons. NBC has already renewed all three shows from the “One Chicago” series, while CBS has ended two “FBI” series produced by Wolf Entertainment and started a new one in that franchise featuring Tom Ellis as the star.

In addition to Wolf Entertainment’s productions, they are currently airing the fifth season of “Law & Order: Organized Crime,” a series featuring Christopher Meloni, exclusively on the streaming platform Peacock.

In my admiration, let me share that an exceptional ensemble graces the set of “Law & Order”. I’m privileged to be a part of this incredible group, which includes Hugh Dancy, Tony Goldwyn, Odelya Halevi, Mehcad Brooks, Reid Scott, and Maura Tierney. This remarkable cast is overseen by the visionary mind of Wolf, who collaborates with Rick Eid, Pamela Wechsler, Alex Hall, and Peter Jankowski to ensure the series maintains its unparalleled standard of excellence.

Mariska Hargitay spearheads the cast of “SVU” alongside Ice T and Peter Scanavino. Previous reports indicated that Juliana Martinez and Octavio Pisano will be departing the series at the conclusion of this current season. Additionally, “SVU” is overseen by executive producers such as Wolf, David Graziano, Julie Martin, Hargitay, Norberto Barba, Kenneth Brown, and Jankowski, from Universal Television in collaboration with Wolf Entertainment. Michele Fazekas will assume the role of showrunner for Season 27.

NBC is yet to make some crucial decisions regarding the renewal or termination of several shows, including “Suits LA,” “Brilliant Minds,” “Grosse Pointe Garden Society,” and “The Hunting Party” (new drama series), as well as “The Irrational” and “Found” (returning sophomore dramas). Additionally, the future of comedy series “Lopez vs. Lopez” and “Night Court” is also undecided at this time. These announcements will likely be made after NBC’s upfront presentation to advertisers in New York on May 12.
