2K Games together with Hangar 13 have just unveiled a fresh trailer for Mafia: The Old Country, the forthcoming prequel to 2K’s established Mafia action series. This new sneak peek showcases the characters and settings of early-1900s Sicily. Additionally, 2K revealed that the game will debut on August 8th, priced at just $50.
As I, the gamer, dive into this thrilling adventure, the story kicks off with a tense chat between me and Don Torrisi, the big boss of the crime syndicate I’m tangled up in. He tosses around words about loyalty and obedience, typical mob stuff. Then, without warning, I find myself sneaking through an intricate network of underground tunnels, taking down foes along the way. The action heats up as I charge down a hill on horseback, squaring off against a squadron of soldiers in an epic fight to the finish!
13th Hangar unveiled “Breaking Omerta,” an exclusive insider peek into the creation process of Mafia: The Old Country. This developer diary features insights from Nick Baynes, president and studio head of Hangar 13, along with game director Alex Cox, among others. They share their thoughts on the game’s concept, delve into aspects of its combat system, and explore the Sicilian backdrop that enriches the game.
The Old Country” is a prequel to the Mafia series, marking the first time the game will venture outside of urban settings and into a more rustic landscape. This new installment was initially unveiled at the Gamescom Opening Night Live event in August 2024.
Mafia: The Old Country is set to release on August 8, available for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. At launch, you can choose between a Standard and Deluxe Edition, priced at $50 and $60 respectively. The Deluxe Edition offers various cosmetic items and unique weapons as additional features.
