This morning, I woke up to troubling reports suggesting that Michael Pitt, once a captivating figure on ‘Boardwalk Empire’, is entangled in some grave accusations. If these allegations indeed hold weight, Pitt will be facing a storm of legal issues with potential severe repercussions.

According to the New York Post, court documents from New York City suggest that Brad Pitt was taken into custody and presented at Kings Supreme Court in Brooklyn on May 2, following accusations of sexual misconduct against his ex-girlfriend. The alleged incidents date back to April 2020, with Pitt being indicted for two charges of first-degree sexual abuse, as well as additional charges involving assault using various blunt objects and strangulation.

The Alleged Abuse Gets Even More Disturbing

According to court documents, the accusations stem from four domestic incidents starting in 2020, the latest of which occurred in August 2021. These incidents reportedly transpired at his shared home in Bushwick and involve his ex-girlfriend. The records further allege that Pitt is accused of groping his former partner on one occasion, followed by sexual assault and striking her with a wooden plank at separate times later. The alleged mistreatment escalates even further, as prosecutors assert that the actor used a cinderblock to attack his ex-girlfriend.

The specific offenses for which Brad Pitt was taken into custody involve sexual misconduct, forced coercion, strangulation with a sexual intent, and assault with a weapon, all of a sexual nature. Pitt has denied all charges and was released on a $100,000 bond. Reports suggest that his next court date will be set for June 17. Brad Pitt’s lawyer, Jason Goldman, expressed confidence that the entire case will eventually be dismissed.

Regrettably, we inhabit a society where even a respected figure like Mr. Pitt, someone who would never consider such misdeeds, can be apprehended based solely on an unreliable statement from an emotionally disturbed person. In truth, this groundless accusation appears to have been brought up around four or five years following the alleged event, during a period when both parties were willingly and consensually involved. This case is expected to be dropped.

Pitt has had run-ins with law enforcement before. In July 2022, he was taken into custody and charged for assault and petty theft following an altercation where he allegedly attacked someone who took his phone. This was followed by another incident in September of the same year, where accusations arose that he threw objects from a rooftop, leading to his hospitalization.

Pitt is primarily recognized for his performances, most notably as Jimmy Darmody in the HBO show “Boardwalk Empire” for two seasons. This role garnered him a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination and recognition from Critics’ Choice Awards. Additionally, he has appeared on shows like “Dawson’s Creek” and portrayed Mason Verger during the second season of “Hannibal”.
