‘Twisted Love’ Author Ana Huang Talks Casting ‘Fresh Faces’ for Netflix Series, Epilogue Novel Plans (EXCLUSIVE)

Ana Huang recently shared the initial news about the cast selection for the Netflix series based on her beloved “Twisted” romance novel series, which debuted in 2021 with “Twisted Love.

Even though the casting process is only just getting started, Huang has already held numerous talks with Netflix’s cooperative team. She fully understands that the expectations are running high.

Huang states on the “I’ve Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario” podcast, airing Tuesday, that while it is essential for actors to resemble the characters, what truly matters in a romance series is the chemistry between them. He also mentions that using fresh faces can be a valid point of discussion.

Netflix acquired the rights to transform “Twisted Love” and its subsequent novels into a television series via a multi-million dollar option agreement, as EbMaster previously reported in January. So far, the quartet of books has collectively sold over 12 million copies.

Huang mentioned that his fans are enthusiastic and brimming with ideas about potential cast members and plot developments. He noted, ‘I need to walk a fine line between staying faithful to the original story’s essence… yet acknowledging that changes will be necessary during adaptation.’

Due to the popularity of her TikTok series, there’s been a lot of talk about potential casting choices for Huang.

Huang mentioned that there’s an endless stream of speculation surrounding the topic, and every few months, a fresh rumor emerges. Therefore, he consistently advises his fans to be aware that unless he personally confirms it through his official channels, nothing is finalized as of yet.

When queried regarding possible sequels to “Twisted Lies,” which was published in 2022, author Huang responded with a tentative “maybe.” This implies that while no further books have been confirmed yet, it’s not completely ruled out either.

As a film enthusiast, I can’t make any definite promises, but let me assure you, if something does materialize, it might take the form of an epilogue novel rather than a movie sequel.

In the video above, you can catch Huang talking about the “Twisted Love” TV series on an episode of “I’ve Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario”, which aired on Tuesday.
