Ahsoka Season 2: 4 Beloved Characters Get More Screen Time!

In the upcoming season 2 of “Ahsoka,” four beloved Star Wars characters are expected to make more appearances. This Disney+ series serves as a continuation from the animated shows, “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Star Wars Rebels.” Fans are thrilled to witness these cherished characters reappear in live-action form for the very first time.

In Season 1 of Ahsoka, Ahsoka Tano, portrayed by Rosario Dawson, embarks on a mission to a far-off galaxy, aiming to prevent Grand Admiral Thrawn from regrouping his troops. Along this journey, she encounters various allies who will have significant roles in the second season of the Star Wars series.

Ahsoka Characters With Bigger Roles in Season 2

Thrawn

As a dedicated Star Wars fan, I was thrilled to see the enigmatic villain from Star Wars Rebels, Grand Admiral Thrawn, make his live-action debut in Ahsoka Season 1, with Lars Mikkelsen reprising his voice role superbly. The captivating mystery of where the formidable Chiss officer had been hiding was finally unveiled in Ahsoka. In a surprising twist, we learned that Thrawn had sought refuge on the distant planet of Peridea, managing to assemble a formidable force of Night Troopers and slip away unnoticed at the end of the season finale.

In the first season of Ahsoka, Thrawn made an appearance in just three episodes. However, at Star Wars Celebration 2025, director Dave Filoni revealed that the villainous admiral will have a larger role in Season 2. Filoni hinted that roughly half of the upcoming season will feature “a major battle,” and suggested that Thrawn will be an integral part of it.

A significant portion of it involves a massive conflict, as we’re heading towards a full-scale battle in our Star Wars saga. It’s going to be intense, like an all-out showdown… We want that intensity, and Thrawn will play a larger role, so you can expect to see him more frequently.

Hera Syndulla

In the backdrop of Star Wars: Ahsoka Season 1, Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s character General Hera Syndulla played an instrumental role, providing assistance to Ahsoka on her mission to reunite with Thrawn and Ezra, all while mobilizing the New Republic towards our shared goals. Additionally, fans were moved by the tender portrayal of Hera as a mother, nurturing and raising her and Kanan’s son, Jacen, single-handedly.

According to Filoni, fans can anticipate seeing more of the character Hera in Season 2 of Ahsoka, and she will actively participate in the action. With Filoni’s hints that Ahsoka will feature a significant battle, it appears that Hera’s role as a General and pilot of the New Republic could be vital for their victory.

Ezra Bridger

In the first season of “Ahsoka,” Ezra Eman Esfandi turned out to be a crucial element, serving as a catalyst for Sabine to team up with Ahsoka in their mission to locate Grand Admiral Thrawn and potentially reconnect with an old acquaintance. This was indeed the case because Ezra had been secretly living among the Noti on Peridea.

As Filoni suggests, Season 2 will feature a greater focus on Ezra. Since he’s now back with Hera and has managed to escape Peridea, it seems that his aim is to reciprocate the help he received by rescuing Sabine and Ahsoka from their captivity on a distant planet.

Chopper

In the first season of “Ahsoka,” the trustworthy and sarcastic Star Wars Rebels character Chopper occasionally lent a hand to Hera and Ahsoka during their assignments.

Because of the enthusiasm from fans, Filoni assured that he would increase the presence of Chopper significantly in Season 2 of Ahsoka (a character who is also voiced by the director). He further mentioned that Chopper performs some rather unconventional actions in the upcoming season, which is consistent with the mischievous nature of the droid as seen in Star Wars Rebels.

Since you all seemed so enthusiastic about it, I’ve increased the amount of Chopper in the mix quite a bit. He carries out some rather unsettling actions.

BONUS: Zeb

As a devoted Star Wars fan, I can’t help but note an intriguing detail: Among the Star Wars Rebels crew, it was only Zeb Orrelios, the gruff Lasat rebel, who didn’t grace our screens during Ahsoka’s initial season. However, the wait for Zeb is finally over as he made his live-action debut in a cameo on The Mandalorian Season 3, signifying that he has indeed pledged allegiance to the New Republic. Excitingly, we can expect to see him again in The Mandalorian & Grogu, scheduled for 2026.

Filoni stated that he felt compelled to get his toy (Zeb) back, hence he chose to incorporate Zeb with Ahsoka in Season 2, aiming for a future live-action gathering of the entire Ghost team.

We decided to place Zeb with Ahsoka since you all requested it, as Jon has been spending a lot of time with him recently, and I wanted to get my toy back.

Ahsoka Season 2 recently began filming and does not have a confirmed release date.
