The Avengers have assembled once again — well, some of them.
Actor Robert Downey Jr., known for his roles in Marvel productions, shared a picture on social media featuring some of his co-stars from the upcoming blockbuster “Avengers: Doomsday” (next year). They gathered to watch the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe film, “Thunderbolts,” collectively.
Wow, simply amazing! Dining and entertainment with the original Avengers. It’s incredibly stylish, innovative, and thought-provoking. Huge kudos to the new Avengers (and Bob). #Thunderbolts – Downey posted this on Friday, preceding the opening weekend of “Thunderbolts”. The whole cast made a T shape with their hands, paying tribute to the newly formed Thunderbolts team.

Amongst the familiar and cherished companions I found myself surrounded by were my long-time “Thor” buddy, Chris Hemsworth, the charismatic Paul Rudd from “Ant-Man”, Anthony Mackie, who’s now synonymous with the new era of “Captain America”. There was also Simu Liu, a shining star from “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”, and Winston Duke, who brought M’Baku, the mighty Wakandan warrior, to life in the “Black Panther” films, as well as “Infinity War” and “Endgame”. They’ll all be back for the epic “Avengers: Doomsday”, along with a plethora of other illustrious actors. Instead of reprising my role as Iron Man, I will be stepping into the sinister shoes of Doctor Doom.
In Downey’s latest photos, we find some fresh faces such as Channing Tatum, who made his X-Men debut as Gambit in the hit movie “Deadpool and Wolverine” last year. Joining him are Vanessa Kirby and Ebon-Moss Bachrach, known for their roles in the “Fantastic Four”. They’ll be appearing as The Invisible Woman and The Thing in the upcoming MCU film “Fantastic Four: First Steps”, along with Pedro Pascal portraying Mister Fantastic and Joseph Quinn playing Human Torch. After making a strong impression in “Deadpool and Wolverine”, we can expect to see Tatum’s Gambit again, as well as some familiar faces from the X-Men series such as Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Kelsey Grammer, Alan Cumming, and Rebecca Romijn.
The “Thunderbolts” cast members such as Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, and Lewis Pullman are set to reappear in the film titled “Avengers: Doomsday.
“Thunderbolts*” is playing in theaters now, while “Avengers: Doomsday” arrives on May 1, 2026.
