Director Reveals Terrifying ‘D-Rex’ in Jurassic World Rebirth

Similar to the latest trilogy, the upcoming movie “Jurassic World: Rebirth” will continue the tradition of unveiling a colossal dinosaur that matches the iconic T-Rex in size. In this installment, viewers will encounter an enormous, awe-inspiring creature, which promises to be quite a spectacle for all who dare venture into the abandoned research facility within “Jurassic World: Rebirth“.

In an interview with Empire Magazine, director of Jurassic World Rebirth, Gareth Edwards, talked about the addition of the Distortus Rex, or the “D-Rex.” This dinosaur has six limbs and is covered in numerous teeth. It appears to be a hybrid of DNA from various sources, likely including failed experiments. The D-Rex looks similar to the Rancor creature from the Star Wars series. According to Edwards, it’s like if the T-Rex was designed by H.R. Giger and then mated with a Rancor. This description underscores the monster’s unsettling and potentially tragic origins as a mutant creation. The D-Rex can be seen in the official trailer for the film.

I was thrilled with the design, and I’m eagerly waiting to purchase the toy once it’s available. The design appears to be another animal wrapped around a T-Rex. Gareth intended for us to feel both pity and fear because its deformities have caused it discomfort, and there seems to be some burden upon it.

More to come.
