Enthusiasts of Nintendo products can purchase one of the company’s latest inventions from stores like Walmart and other significant retailers. Contrary to expectations, it isn’t the Nintendo Switch 2 that has already been pre-ordered in large quantitiesinstead, we’re focusing on a peculiar device: Nintendo Alarmo. Developed internally by Nintendo and initially launched as an exclusive for Switch Online members last autumn, Alarmo began appearing at major retailers across February and March.
Currently, you can find Nintendo Alarmo for sale at Walmart, Target, GameStop, Best Buy, and the official Nintendo Store. Unlike the upcoming Switch 2 and other Nintendo-branded products, Alarmo is not offered by Amazon, and any listings on Amazon tend to have excessively high prices (it’s advised not to buy it from Amazon).
Not only does Alarmo boast some nifty interactive elements, but it offers flexibility in how you can snooze it. You can either make a gesture or press a button to do so, depending on your preference. Moreover, characters from select Nintendo games react to detected movements as well.
During the course of a day, Alarmo serves as a tool that plays music at predetermined time slots to keep you updated on the hour. Additionally, it monitors your sleep patterns and informs you about how frequently you’re moving around during the night, giving you an overall sense of the quality of your sleep.
The alarm clock, named Alarmo, operates using the provided USB-C cord. Although it doesn’t support wireless functionality, a coin battery that comes with it retains your settings. This means, if you ever need to shift the clock to another room or encounter a power outage, you can simply reconnect it without having to reconfigure the settings again.
Nintendo intends to provide additional updates for the game Alarmo, which will include fresh scenes. These updates won’t cost you a dime, however, you’ll need to link your device to Wi-Fi in order to download them.
In the world of very unofficial updates, it’s technically possible to play Doom on Nintendo Alarmo.
It’s important to note that the Nintendo Switch 2 is already out of stock before its scheduled launch on June 5. However, it might be a good idea to keep an eye on various retailers, as there have been occasional restocks since they started taking preorders on April 24.
Even if you’re waiting for a Switch 2, it’s important to know that the Nintendo Switch OLED model along with Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is still available at various prominent stores.
