TLOU Star Bella Ramsey Had To Remind Kit Harrington Of His Lines On Game Of Thrones

Seven years have passed since Kit Harington and Bella Ramsey graced our screens together in the final season of HBO’s Game of Thrones. During that time, Ramsey portrayed the young noblewoman Lyanna Mormont, winning over fans with her compelling acting. Since then, she has significantly grown her career, assuming the role of Ellie in The Last of Us.

Lately, Harrington talked to Ramsey for Interview Magazine, discussing their collaborative projects, Ramsey’s future endeavors, and an instance where he felt outperformed by a child actor during filming. Their last encounter took place on set when Ramsey was 14, having already made minor appearances in the final years of the show. Ramsey began working on Game of Thrones at age 11, and recalls assisting Harrington in a particular scene on one occasion.

Ramsey recollected, “At the time, I didn’t feel small or childlike, but looking back at 11-year-olds now, I find it hard to believe I was once that size and age. It seems strange to me because I didn’t realize how small I was then.” Also, “I can still recall a detail from that scene, and it makes me feel a little guilty now, but during filming, I was saying your lines along with you.

Ramsey explained, “At that moment, I was thinking, ‘Oh dear me, what a difficult situation.’ However, my action stemmed innocently as I wanted to help Kit, who seemed to be having trouble remembering his lines, by silently mouthing them to him.

Harrington recalled that instance and didn’t feel insulted. “It wasn’t at all aggravating. In fact, I thought, ‘Oh dear, I need to improve my performance.’ At the time, I wasn’t confident with my lines, thinking I was simply acting against a child. But that child actor overshadowed me on screen. Not that it was a contest, but you feel, ‘Ah, I’ve grown complacent in my Jon Snow character.’

Additionally, they discussed the fact that Ramsey has begun writing their own scripts, and while they didn’t provide specifics, they hinted that this feature is currently in a stage where it can be fully developed. They even joked about enlisting Harington to portray a character who, despite being talented, isn’t quite old enough for the role of a father yet.
