Minecraft Movie’s ‘Steve’s Lava Chicken’ Sets Music Records

The box office success of the Minecraft movie continues, and now its soundtrack is breaking numerous music chart records.

Despite receiving unfavorable critiques, leading to a 47% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the Minecraft film has demonstrated an ability to withstand criticism and become an unstoppable success.

Spurred on by boisterous showings filled with spectators hollering and applauding, even one audience member letting loose a live chicken, the movie has amassed more than $800 million at the box office and is steadily heading towards earning a billion dollars.

This film has become the second largest motion picture of 2025 thus far, also ranking as the second highest-grossing video game adaptation in history, following The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Currently, it’s shattering numerous musical records.

2. Upon reaching No. 11, it became Black’s most successful single, outranking ‘Peaches’ from The Super Mario Bros. Movie in the process.

Not only has “Steve’s Lava Chicken” been a sensation in every way, but on April 9, 2025, an official music video for the song from A Minecraft Movie was released on YouTube. This video is rapidly approaching 30 million views, further solidifying its status as a worldwide phenomenon.
