Valorant dev confirms much-needed feature is finally coming after 5 year wait

It’s been five years, but finally, the much-anticipated replay feature for Valorant is on its way โ€“ however, it might take a bit more time before we can start using it.

For five years now, Riot Games have been delighting gamers worldwide with their much-awaited version of the first-person hero shooter, Valorant. Over the past five years, this game has soared in popularity to become one of the most cherished, as players across the globe put their skills to the test on the futuristic planet of Future Earth.

Over the past five years, the game has undergone numerous updates totaling around 500. New faces in the cast, fresh terrains, and novel gameplay modes are just some of the additions we’ve enjoyed. However, there remain a few key elements that haven’t made an appearance yet.

Since its launch, a feature that enables players to analyze their games and potentially spot unnoticed cheaters – commonly referred to as a replay system – has consistently been in high demand.

Valorant is finally getting replays

Originally, Riot indicated that the new feature wouldn’t require a considerable amount of time for its release, jokingly comparing it to how long it took League of Legends to develop just one such feature, which took them seven years.

At long last, I’m thrilled to share that Valorant will be introducing replays this coming September! So if you’ve been asking ‘when are replays coming?’, now is your chance to chime in before they arrive!

In a June update video, the developer for Valorant mentioned there would be additional content, yet she did not provide an exact timeline as to when this update would occur.

Hello everyone! I’ve noticed your comments and concerns regarding the current state of our game following our recent video. Although we have some significant updates planned for our June anniversary Developer Update, I thought it would be best to share some good news right away.

Firstly, REPLAY FEATURE IS SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER! That’s exciting news…

Additionally, Donlon shared some exciting news with Valorant enthusiasts, disclosing that Tejo will undergo a nerf in the upcoming 10.09 patch.

It appears that rockets are currently powerful, causing predicaments where effective responses are scarce. To address this issue, we’re reducing some of their fuel and adjusting them to be similar to other Initiators, as she explained.

Furthermore, significant modifications can be expected once the Valorant Champions event ends in October. Regrettably, she failed to provide further details.
