Robert De Niro stands with “affection and encouragement” for his daughter, Ariyan De Niro, following her recent announcement about identifying as transgender.
Robert De Niro stated to People that he cherished and stood by Aaron as his child, and now he feels the same way about Airyn as his daughter. He doesn’t understand what the fuss is about. Simply put, he adores all of his kids.
In a recent interview with Them, Airyn De Niro talked about embracing her “new role” and also shared insights on growing up as part of the large De Niro family, which included six other siblings.
Airyn De Niro pointed out that there’s a distinction between being noticed and truly understood, explaining, “I’ve managed to be noticeable, but I haven’t felt like I’ve been genuinely perceived yet.
She added that neither parent is flawless, yet she’s thankful that both chose to shield her from the spotlight. They made it a point to ensure I had as ordinary a upbringing as could be managed.
During the same interview, Airyn De Niro shared insights about what motivated her to announce her transition. One of her sources of inspiration was actress Laverne Cox.
She expressed that transgender women openly sharing their experiences, particularly on platforms such as social media and showcasing their accomplishments, can be inspiring. She admitted, ‘Perhaps there’s still hope for me.’
