This week, the global box office revenue for the Minecraft Movie surpassed an impressive $800 million, making it nearly double the earnings of this year’s second-highest-grossing film, Captain America: Brave New World. Now, Jack Black’s song from the Minecraft Movie is gaining popularity on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and has even set a new record for itself.

In the film, Black’s rendition of Steve’s Lava Chicken song, a tune that humorously depicts the process of creating a delicious dish from lava and chickens, debuted at No. 78 on the Billboard chart. This makes it the shortest song to ever be included in the Billboard rankings, with just 34 seconds in length. The performance in the movie showcases Steve (Black) impromptu singing as he exhibits the creation of this unique culinary delight.

In a surprising turn of events, “Peaches,” Black’s hit single from The Super Mario Bros. Movie, debuted at number 83 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking Black’s first solo appearance on this list. Previously, his only other appearance was alongside his partner Kyle Glass as part of Tenacious D. Given Black’s knack for creating memorable video game tunes, it would have been fitting if Borderlands featured his character Claptrap singing a song too.

It’s interesting to note that Black, who portrayed Steve in A Minecraft Movie, wasn’t originally intended for the role.
