Previously, Jeff Blackburn, who was in charge of entertainment at Amazon, has been appointed as both the chairperson and CEO for the Tennis Channel, which is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group.
For over two decades, Blackburn played a significant role at Amazon, where he supervised the growth into realms such as streaming services and sports, encompassing brands like Prime Video, Amazon Studios, Amazon Music, as well as their advertising and marketplace sectors. Prior to his departure, Blackburn held the position of senior vice president for global media and entertainment within Amazon.
Blackburn spent more than 20 years at Amazon, guiding the company’s expansion into areas like streaming platforms and sports, which included brands such as Prime Video, Amazon Studios, Amazon Music, and their advertising and marketplace departments. Prior to leaving the company, he was the senior vice president for global media and entertainment at Amazon.
Jeff’s appointment is a significant move towards boosting Tennis Channel’s development and maximizing Sinclair Inc.’s long-term profits, according to Chris Ripley, CEO of Sinclair Inc.
