In their April blog post, the creators of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 outlined recent game updates and revealed future plans for the upcoming weeks. Lately, players have been treated to numerous additions in the 7.0 “Trygon” update, but the team at Saber Interactive isn’t resting – patch 8.0 featuring a new horde mode is in development.
800,000 Trygons in 10 days
From April 17th to the 27th, I hopped into the thrilling “Seismic Activity” community event as a gamer. Our mission was straightforward: slay 200,000 Trygons. To my amazement, we not only accomplished this goal but far surpassed it! By April 27th, a staggering total of over 800,000 Trygons had met their match at our hands.
At the upcoming event, attendees have the chance to obtain the Mark X Tacticus armor. On May 5th, they’ll receive a redeemable code that allows them to secure a unique skin for the Porphyr Shield sword. This reward can be claimed until the release of update 8.0.
Patch 8.0 – the most important info
The standout novelty feature slated for release in May is the ‘Horde Mode’. This mode allows for a maximum of three players, or one player accompanied by two AI-controlled characters, to battle through escalating waves of enemies. Following each wave, the challenge level intensifies, and the progression system is linked to the character classes and weapon levels from the Player vs Environment (PvE) mode.
As a fervent supporter, I was granted a sneaky peek at the upcoming game mode’s map, nestled within the heart of Kadaku. Rest assured, the unveiling of its official release date and final name (currently referred to as “horde mode”) is imminent!
In the horde mode, we’ll be introducing new visual customizations for your characters, such as the Blood Angels Cosmetic Bundle and the White Scars Champion Set.
With Patch 8.0, we can expect adjustments to the Extreme difficulty setting, which has been shaped by the collective input from the community through voting. In addition, they’ve confirmed that the test server (PTS) will make a comeback.
Focus Together is working – 40 community ideas already in the game
Saber Interactive has shared that since the game’s launch, they’ve incorporated more than 40 community ideas via the Focus Together platform. This led to additions like Trygons, the Inferno Pistol, customizable color schemes for lenses and fabrics, a bestiary from the game’s lore, and the elimination of weapon class restrictions in PvE.
