Support for Evil Dead: The Video Game ceased in late 2023, with developer Saber Interactive promising to maintain the game servers and tackle significant issues if they arose. However, it seems that the game has been taken down from various platforms, as fans have noticed its absence on two digital marketplaces.
According to ThePatMan117 on reddit, Evil Dead: The Video Game is no longer available for purchase on The Epic Games Store and PlayStation Store. However, it can still be bought through Steam or Xbox Store. As of now, Saber Interactive hasn’t given any updates about the game’s future status.

Among numerous multiplayer games inspired by horror film franchises such as Killer Clowns from Outer Space and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Evil Dead: The Game was initially unveiled at the 2020 Game Awards. Originally scheduled for release in 2021, the game eventually came out in 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. It received mostly positive feedback from critics following its launch. After its release, updates like Splatter Royale and Army of Darkness were added to the game, and on console, a Game of the Year Edition was issued.
In his review for TopMob, Mark Delaney noted that “Evil Dead: The Game” is a faithful adaptation, but it can be overly so at times. If the game offered additional game modes or more diverse objectives within its existing attractive mode, it could become a horror enthusiast’s go-to game for extended play, potentially dethroning competitors like Dead By Daylight and Hunt Showdown from their lofty positions.
Just as the terrifying entities relentlessly haunt Ash Campbell from The Evil Dead series, the IP frequently resurfaces in new guises. A notable modern example is RetroRealms, developed by WayForward, where players can seize Ash’s boomstick and battle against Deadites in a 2D platformer that echoes the charm of 16-bit classics.
