2K Games and Gearbox Software have revealed that Borderlands 4 is set to launch a week early, on September 12. Additionally, they’ve scheduled a State of Play broadcast for tomorrow, where they will provide an in-depth look at the game.
Initially slated for release on September 23, Borderlands 4 is set to unveil a 20-minute State of Play showcase that will highlight weapons, Action Skills, familiar characters reappearing, and brand-new ones, as well as other exciting aspects of the game. Additionally, the official key art for the game has been unveiled today.
On September 23rd, Borderlands 4 is set to debut on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, as well as PC platforms like Steam and the Epic Games Store. This game is also scheduled to come out later this year on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Since then, we’ve shared that Borderlands 4 will now be released on September 12, 2025 – moving up its release date means you can dive into the looter shooter excitement sooner!
