The makers of Gearbox have adjusted the launch date for Borderlands 4. This isn’t a postponement, though; it’s moving up a bit and is now scheduled for September 12. Originally, it was planned for release on September 23. A special Sony State of Play event focusing solely on Borderlands 4 will air tomorrow, April 30, at 2 PM Pacific Time / 5 PM Eastern Time.
During the broadcast, spectators will be treated to approximately twenty minutes showcasing hands-on gameplay guided by developers, featuring missions, powerful weaponry, thrilling action abilities, both fresh and familiar characters, and additional content.
Initially, Borderlands 4 was scheduled for release on September 23, coinciding with the launch of Bungie’s Marathon. However, it appears that these two games will now be released on different days.
Developing for release on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, Borderlands 4 serves as the follow-up to the 2019 title, Borderlands 3.
2K’s most rapid-selling video game to date, that being “That game”, has surpassed 22 million sales, making it the company’s fastest-seller in history. On the other hand, Borderlands 2 remains 2K’s highest-grossing game with a staggering 30 million units sold. Collectively, the entire Borderlands series has garnered more than 91 million sales.
